Recent USACE Noteworthy Projects:

The USACE developed a repair for a "gap" left at Site R1 between two previously installed slurry cutoff walls. The work involved a 90-day schedule to construct 275 If of soil-cement bentonite slurry wall to 75' below highway, around underground utilities with limited site access while maintaining traffic flow.

Site R1 is located near RM 62 on the left (east) bank of the Sacramento River at the end of the Natomas Main Drainage Canal on Garden Highway. The site extends for 400lf and is directly over the RD 1000 Pump Station.

Extensive coordination--residents, businesses, SAFCA, RD, City of Sacramento and other regulatory agencies--was required for successfull conclusion 16 days ahead of schedule, within budget and without safety incidents.
